Second Edition of Bound in Stone set has been released
| I have at last fixed up the Bound in Stone set. The novels have been re-released as second editions with updated covers. The font of the covers pops more and the image in the centre is somewhat larger. The content underwent a revision based on things I learned this last year editing for Freya's Bower and Wild Child Publishing. I was not extraordinarily strenuous with the edits. I preserved the style pretty much, but I did remove a surfeit of "a moment", "turned", "stared at", and was/ing combinations. And that's it for the Bound set. Done. Ready for readers. The Gryhon Taint set is up for revision next. I'll try to get Gryphon 1 up quickly, since it's a free read and I want it up to my new standards at once, but I have to wait on the remainder of the series and get back to my duties to the FB/WCP authors I'm working with. You know, this unfinished project was really bothering me. I haven't been able to write new material for a year. Yes, I've had a lot of editing on my plate, but for my own writing, having my self-pubbed stuff untended left me feeling like I had sunk in quicksand. Just getting the Bound set fixed up has taken a load of pressure off my mind, and let me crawl up the safety rope a little. I feel like I can at least breathe as a writer again. So. It was self preservation really, doing this. Mental preservation. Writer preservation. The old must be properly settled in niches before I can get on with the new creations. They were screaming at me, the old novels. Just screaming. But if my editor pokes me hard enough, I shall ignore the screaming and finish writing Loved Him 3 faster, of course. Heh heh. You want the free to read ebook of Bound 1, here's the link: http://www.lulu.com/content/1198841 And reminder, I'm chatting tomorrow on Beth Wylde's Yahoo group. It's an all day loop chat and there will be prizes, such as a copy of Loved Him 1. And! And I have M.E. Ellis's Freya's Bower novels for giveaways as well. Yes, indeed. Come visit. Read her excerpts and mine. See what we're up to, us wild and crazy authors. :-) All right, I said this a while ago and I will say it again. To those of you who purchased an older ebook version of the Bound set, I am willing to send you the new versions, since Lulu makes you get stuck with whatever version you purchased, for ever and ever and ever. Just email me personally with proof of your purchase and I'll send the new version off to you. Sorry, but this offer does not apply to print versions of any of my self-pubbed novels. |

post a commentI imagine you found the re-editing an interesting exercise!
The Bound set wasn't too bad. It's the oldest one of my novels giving me hell now. In the first three chapters, I used an older style of narrative that's no longer popular, and its putting my head in a spin trying to figure where to cut, where to modernize, where to leave it alone. :-(
Can I poke you to write #3 as well?
POOOOOOOOOOOOKE!
:o)
And I know you mean Loved Him 3, lol. Yeah, you can poke me for that. I need the poking. I looked at it the other day, then turned the word processor off. Couldn't stand what I'd written after page four, lol. I feel a major revision coming on.
